Faster Speeds, Better Anime, Just AWESOME!

So I've been thinking a while about this; about the fact that my server is so darn slow, I have stupid limits on my server, I have stupid vDeck as my control panel and my host just sucks. Well, time for a change. I'm moving to a new host (I hope). I've got the money to pay up front for 2 years, I've got the time to design a new site and build everything from scratch, the question however is whether I want to do it and whether it's worth it or not. I'm gonna post a poll asking if I should open a separate site for Anime.

I'm going to leave ortixdesign.com as it is, and simply remove all the anime from my server. What I will do is the following: Depending on the download speed etc. of the new server, I will do some separation in users. If you are a Power user (I will figure out how you can become one) you will be able to download from the server at full http speeds. It will be credit based, so you get x amount of credits a month and you can just download as long as your credits last (5 eps a month?). If you are not a Power User you might have way less credits or no credits at all. You will be forced to either download low quality downloads or not so high def from mirrored servers. I doubt it will be pay based, and if it will it will be VERY cheap, but I doubt it will be, unless there is a huge demand and I'm forced to get new servers again...

Well screw the poll, I'm just going to open a new anime website. I've got a name already :)

 Anways, I will also try to explain what I'm actually trying to do with the site. First of all, I want to change the way the streaming media appears. I hate the category listing. It's just horrible. Second I want to get the damn downloads to function as they should. Currently I manually have to add all the files and also upload them to megaupload. There has to be an easier way. So I'm developing a solution to that. Furthermore, my download speeds have fell considerably for some odd reason. I don't know why, but they keep hanging around 100 kb/s. That's fine if you were friends with Jesus Christ, but if you are living the the age of Al Gore's Interwebs, you should know better.

There you have it! The final episodes of Rosario + Vampire Capu2  DVD are up! Now you can enjoy this anime without all the annoying Kuma Bears and bats.

It was a fun ride; downloading the raws, demuxing the subtitles from chihiro's HD releases, re-timing them and muxing them in into the new videos which were than encoded. It was good! Since this episodes is done, I'm thinking of changing some stuff on how the episodes are presented. A lot of people want to download the anime, and I can't agree more. Therefore I will try to figure out how I can make the streaming anime also downloadble. 

Now the downloads and the streaming episodes are in seperate folders, because my download manager renames the folders instead of asigning them their name. I would have to change every streaming anime folder name inside the system to make it work; not worth it. I'll need some time to figure this out, but I think I will get this work. However, don't expect too much because I will be leaving on break soon and on top of that I've got finals coming up. So Ortidesign.com will sort of be dead for a while.

Zero No Tsukaima Season 2 is also coming online and Season 3 is in the process of encoding. S1 and S2 didn't need encoding as they were in mp4 when I downloaded them. S3 is in MKV which is not a streamable format, hence me encoding every single episode.

In combination with the Republic of Gamers-motherboards, the user can change the motherboard settings through hardware with a breeze to experience awesome overclocking features. This included tweaking the voltage of both the CPU and the memory. But best of all is that it's not necessary anymore to go into your BIOS and change the CPU clock-speed in there. With a simple turn on the knob you can tweak your cock-speed in a matter of seconds. Some setting that come with the RoG-motherboards, such as CPU Level Up, are also eligable for super tweaking. The question however still remains wether this Overclock Powerhorse can be used in combination with other Asus motherboards.

Yaay! I have some new stuff coming up very soon! First of all let me say that the downloading section is up and running right now. Basically the direct download from my hamster server is not working as the PHP script cannot run longer than 60 seconds. My host wont let me change that time limit so no hamster party on my server. So I made mirrors available which can be downloaded at megaupload. Feel free to make mirrors for the mirror and passing that to me through the contact system. I'm working on a comment system for the downloads page. Now... the anime section will also gat a major revamp... well the list page will. It now looks like... well a list . On top of that I will be adding new anime to the site. I'm thinking of putting up the Ikkitousen OVA's, Kanokon DVD's and a special 1 episode anime.
